Darren Chiacchia continued his winning ways with Windfall in the Advanced "D" Section. This pair led all the way, scoring a 28.75 in Dressage, adding 11.2 on Cross Country, and Show Jumping double clear, to finish on a score of 39.95.

Karen O'Connor's double clear Show Jumping, riding Grand Slam, moved her from 4th place after Cross Country into second behind Darren on a score of 44.25. Kim Morani rode Test Run to a clear Show Jumping round; but, picked up 2 time faults for a total of 45.86 and third place.

Jessica Moore also benefitted from her round with Fibber Magee in the stadium, which incurred 1 time fault for a final score of 35.35 and first place in the Advanced C-A Section. Jessica had ridden one of only two double clear Cross Country rounds to move from 4th after Dressage, to 2nd and at last to the winning position.

Darren turned in another double clear Show Jumping round with Southbound to finish 2nd in the C-A Section on 50.63, while Steve Bradley, who had led throughout riding From, dropped to third, picking up 18 faults in the Stadium, for a final score of 51.71.

The Advanced C-B Section was won by Steve with Brandenburg's Joshua. his Gold Medal Team mount from the Pan Am Games. (Steve and Brandenburg's Joshua are pictured at right, jumping the "skinny" after the water at Southern Pines, where they won an O/I Section.) Joshua, who had led throughout, picked up only 1 time fault in the Show Jumping to win by over 10 faults from second place Denise Rath riding Just A Diplomat. Denise and Just A Diplomat had been in second place throughout the three days of competition.

Pam Wiedemann and Bert And I finished third, behind Steve and Denise, in the Advanced C-B Section, on a score of 48.41.

Sections of Intermediate were won by Dana Sussman and Aspire (43.6) - O/I; Curtis Barbour with Gundy Park (43.2) - INT; and Caroline Snow, riding Prove It Again (42.5) - YR/OI.
