The rumors were all correct! The 2008 Equestrian Games will be held in Hong Kong!

The Beijing Organizing Committee stated that Beijing was unable to create a disease-free zone for equestrian in time for the 2007 test event.

The main venue will be the Sha Ting Race Track, in Penfield Park, and the Hong Kong Sports Institute. The Cross Country will be held 20 minutes away (with or without Hong Kong Traffic?) at Bear River Country Club and the Hong Kong Golf Club.

In addition, 192 air-conditioned stables are planned. The athletes will be able to take part in both the Opening and Closing Ceremonies. The flight to Beijing takes three hours.
