Canadian
Eventing Team Announced for 2006 World Equestrian Games Ottawa,
Ontario--- The Canadian Eventing Committee is pleased to announce that the Canadian
Eventing Team for the 2006 World Equestrian Games (WEG), in Aachen, Germany has
been named according to the selection criteria. The named riders
in alphabetical order are: Rider: Kelli McMullen Temple
- Age 46, currently resides in Round Hill, Virginia  Horse:
Paris II nine-year-old brown Selle Francais gelding, 16.2hh Owners:
Kelli McMullen Temple, Christine Stiller and Bob Stiller (Kelli and Paris
are pictured at the right at the Head of the Lake at the Rolex Kentucky CCI****.)
Rider: Ian Roberts Age 48, currently resides in Port Perry,
ON Horse: Napalm - 10-year-old grey Irish Sport Horse gelding , 16.3hh Owners:
Ian Roberts, Kelly Plitz and Tracey Newman (Ian and Napalm are pictured
at the left below jumping into the Head of the Lake at the Rolex Kentucky CCI****.)

Both team members recently completed the prestigious CCI**** Rolex Kentucky Three
Day Event in April 2006. (Ian finished 23rd on 88.8 with a double clear Cross
Country run. Kelli finished 29th on 106.9.) We
are very excited to be sending these two seasoned competitors on their young horses
to the Worlds after their performances at the Rolex this spring, stated
High Performance Committee Chair Grit High. We have great faith that
Kelli and Ian will represent Canada to the very best of their ability,
as they have been working very hard all winter and throughout the spring under
the expert guidance of David OConnor.
The Team
members will compete at the Maui Jim Horse Trials, July 8-9 , in Illinois,
USA before meeting for their final pre-WEG training in Virginia, USA under the
leadership of David OConnor, International Technical Advisor. Roberts
and McMullen Temple will depart for Germany on August 10 with Chef dEquipe,
Greg Paull. The 2006 World Equestrian Games will feature
800 competitors from seven different disciplines vying for success at one of the
most prestigious competitions in the world. An anticipated 500,000 visitors are
expected to attend the Games, which runs from August 20 to September 3. For more

hrs in St. Johns, NF,, 06:00 hrs in Ottawa, ON and 03:00 hrs in Vancouver,
BC. All phases of the competition will take place on the tournament
grounds of the Aachen-Laurensberger Rennverein.e.V in Aachen, Germany.
The Canadian Eventing Committee is grateful to Sport Canada, the Canadian

continued support of the Canadian Eventing Team in its quest for success at the
2006 World Equestrian Games. Canadian Eventing is a committee of
Equine Canada responsible for the sport of eventing in Canada from the grassroots
to the international level. The Canadian Eventing Committee is comprised of 12
members, including two rider representatives elected by the Elite Riders Association.
Directed by the Strategic Plan for Eventing, all Eventing activities are administered
by this committee via six sub-committees with the support of an Eventing Manager
